Are panic attacks disrupting your life and preventing you from doing what you want?

Do you constantly worry you’re going to have another one?

The experience of a panic attack varies from person to person.

And no matter how they manifest for you, they can be overwhelming and scary to experience.

The good news is that there are things you can do to lower the chances that you’ll have a panic attack.

And of course, one of the most effective ways of reducing stress is to find ways to relax.

One reason that hypnosis is so good for treating anxiety-based problems like panic attacks is that essentially, it is a process of deep relaxation. The second reason is that once deeply relaxed, you can consider what made you anxious in a relaxed, detached way.

This ‘retrains’ the brain so that it doesn’t make you anxious in that situation because subconsciously, it understands the situation is not a genuine threat to your safety.

Hypnosis will give you the resources you need to cope with that panicky feeling, as well as reducing the frequency of these episodes.

Panic attacks are very frightening, not only for those experiencing the attack but the people around them, too.

Hypnosis can help rebuild self-belief and boost confidence, as well as helping to reduce feelings of fear and worry. It can help you learn and build on your ability to access a calmer state of mind, which is needed to help cope with the overwhelming emotions you’re feeling.

Hypnosis for panic attacks is similar to hypnosis for anxiety. It aims to access your subconscious and use the power of suggestion to promote positive change. The suggestions used will be tailored to your individual situation; what is causing your panic attacks and why, and working to change the way your body responds to triggers.

Hypnosis for panic attacks can help you regain a sense of control and normality in your life. It can help you understand what may have caused your anxiety, help you recognize signs of the onset of an attack and provide you with tools to manage and overcome the feelings.

Stuttering, also referred to as stammering, is a speech problem that is quite common in children and can continue into adulthood. It is estimated that around one in 20 children will struggle with stuttering at some point. Around four in five of those affected will grow out of it and it’s estimated that one in 100 adults will continue to stutter.

With stress often making it worse, having a stutter can affect confidence, self-esteem and lead to high anxiety.

You’ve probably noticed that when you get upset or stressed about something, the problems with speaking clearly seem to get worse. And it may also be the case that when you’re concentrating really hard, really trying to speak as clearly as possible, it seems more difficult than ever.

Research seems to indicate this is due to the different parts of the brain that are activated at these times.

Many people notice that it feels easier to enunciate clearly when they sing, or put on an accent. This is partly because these forms of communication don’t feel like “ordinary speaking”.

Singing is music, and acting is pretending… functions which are mostly ruled by the right brain hemisphere, and somehow that seems to take the pressure off, so that it’s easier to produce the right sounds.

These are key findings…the more relaxed you are, the easier communication is. And the more you can engage the left-brain hemisphere (which generally rules logical thinking and speech), the easier spoken communication is.

Hypnosis is a great way to teach your brain new habits.

Hypnosis will help you make progress by accessing the powers of your unconscious mind to change your instinctive behaviors.

You’ll notice you start to feel much more relaxed and calmer. You begin to feel more comfortable with specific words and sounds that used to present problems. You can visualize how you are vocalizing, and directing this process through your left-brain hemisphere. You’ll start to feel more at ease in different situations, confident that you can say what you want, and life becomes more fun!

Hypnosis is an ideal tool for helping people cope with or eliminate stuttering. It’s effective because, unlike speech therapy, for example, it works directly with the unconscious mind. And when it comes to learning or relearning skills, the unconscious mind makes a far better student than its “conscious cousin”.

Grief can cause a lot of stress and there is always a lot to do when someone you love passes away.  On top of that, you may have to go back to work, or you are already back at work and don’t feel you’ve had time to process your grief. You may feel overwhelmed and not able to concentrate.

You may be so busy and overworked that you haven’t given yourself time to grieve.  Or, does your grief interrupt you so that you are overwhelmed by intense feelings of sadness, so that you can’t get anything done?  Are you hiding your grief with alcohol or food, or hiding in sleep or not going out?

We all deal with grief in different ways, but often it can become challenging. We need to grieve, yes, but we don’t want it to completely take over our lives.

Hypnosis is a great way to help you overcome grief and loss and reach a stage where you can enjoy the memories of your loved one without being overcome by the pain of missing them.

Hypnosis can gently help you get through a time of grief in various ways, it can help you find times of peace where you can rest from your grief, help you look after yourself with compassion, grieve at your own pace but not all the time, find a place for grief in your life which doesn’t overwhelm you, reconnect with the positive memories of the person you have lost, enjoy your memories without them being painful feelings, allow you to feel calm and strong, and help you to move on with your life without feeling guilty.

Grieving is a process, not a permanent state, and we need to go through this process. With hypnosis, the process will become less stressful and more a time of appreciation and love.

Hypnosis will give you the tools for processing difficult emotions and looking after yourself at the deepest level.

The death of a loved one is one of the most difficult things a person will go through.

Whether the loss is from natural causes, disease or accident the process of grieving can be devastating for some people.

Using hypnosis to assist you in your grieving process can help if you are feeling stuck.

Hypnosis can help you move through the stages with a better understanding and help you to physically and mentally feel calmer and more relaxed. It can help with the stress and anxiety associated with grief and loss such as sleep issues and lack of appetite. Even through our grief we still need to maintain a reasonable level of good health.

“I’m claustrophobic and wearing a mask is making me panic.” – does this sound like you?

With the COVID-19 pandemic, people have been talking more about their problems with wearing masks.

It can cause a combination of both psychological and physiological responses.

People with underlying anxiety disorders or claustrophobia can feel be particularly affected with emotional discomfort of wearing face masks.

Claustrophobia is a very painful phobia to live with and can become debilitating in everyday life. The disorder is one of the most common phobias of our time.

Claustrophobia is the fear of tight spaces and confinement. This phobia affects between 4 and 5% of the population and can become highly debilitating in everyday life.

The claustrophobic person has the impression of suffocating when in an elevator, confined to the subway, or any other small closed space. In extreme cases, this feeling of choking is accompanied by intense anxiety that can lead to a panic attack or the sensation of going crazy.

The causes of claustrophobia are difficult to define because they depend on each person’s history.

Hypnosis can help you feel more comfortable wearing a protective mask.

Hypnosis works with your powerful subconscious mind and we can remove the barriers to wearing a mask and replace them with feeling comfortable with the mask and seeing great benefits to the mask being on your body.

I can help you feel safe, have gratitude that you are protecting yourself and to feel totally relaxed with it on. Your inner mind will relax, feel comfortable and allow you to easily wear your mask.

Fear of water is one of the more natural fears.

However, when this fear gets out of control, overwhelming anxiety around water can make some vacations or sports very difficult.

People often ask what causes a fear of water, but there is no single answer. Human beings can develop fears of anything.

Re-educate your unconscious mind to relax around water. Any fear response can be ‘unlearned’. Hypnosis can teach your mind to be comfortable around and in water.

Being afraid of water is fairly understandable, especially if you aren’t a strong swimmer. However, for a surprisingly large number of people, it goes way beyond being a little afraid.  Someone suffering from a fear of water may not even be able to get into a bath.

Most people suffering from extreme fear of water don’t go quite that far, needless to say.  More commonly, this issue creates panic at the thought of being out of their depth in a swimming pool or the ocean or the inability to travel by boat. Some are unable to travel by plane if their trip would take them over a large body of water; some are fearful as they travel over a bridge as well.

Most people have a fear of water because of a past traumatic experience. Maybe you had a friend involved in a boating accident, and now you have a fear of open water. Or, maybe you it was something far less memorable – like being pushed in the pool and embarrassed back in school, and now you have a fear of swimming. Maybe you even watched a scary documentary about shark attacks, and now you have a fear of deep water.

Whatever the cause, the fear that you’re experiencing today is coming directly from your subconscious mind – the part of your mind that is responsible for most of your thoughts and actions. Memories stored in your subconscious mind – both major and minor – are driving your current behavior.

Hypnosis can teach your subconscious mind that the traumatic event was a one-time experience.

This experience must be reframed so that the subconscious mind understands that the fear is no longer necessary.

When you overcome your fear of water with hypnosis, your subconscious mind will learn a positive response to water. If your subconscious can associate water with good things – like jumping into a cool pool on a hot day, having fun on the water ride at the theme park, or tossing coins into a fountain and making a wish – it won’t have any reason to be afraid of water.

With hypnosis, you’ll have the self-confidence to know that you can go swimming, hop on a boat, or go to a pool party and stay safe.

Treating and preventing headaches and migraines with hypnosis is a cost-effective alternative to prescription drugs.

Every physical symptom you experience from headaches has the potential to be healed with hypnosis.

The subconscious mind has the amazing ability to speak for and through the human body.

Did you know that about 50% of adults suffer from a headache at least once a year?

And when those headaches are migraines, they can cause serious problems.

It’s not just the pain… it’s also the way they can be so debilitating; making it impossible for people to carry on with their lives as usual.

As well as the pain, migraines usually involve other symptoms. These can include nausea, vomiting and extreme sensitivity to light and sound.

The pain from a migraine can last for hours or for days, and it can be so severe that it leaves a person unable to do anything until it passes.

According to the American Migraine Prevalence and Prevention Study, approximately 12% of Americans suffer from migraines. Nine out of 10 sufferers are unable to function normally when a migraine strikes, and a third of those require bed rest.

Research by the World Health Organization states that migraines mostly affect those aged 35-45, and that they are twice as likely to occur in women.

According to the World Health Organization, migraines are the result of a mechanism in the brain that releases pain-producing inflammatory substances around the nerves and blood vessels of the head.

Although an exact single cause has yet to be identified, there are certain things that are known to trigger migraine attacks. These include stress, hormonal changes, food intolerance, excessive exercise, strong emotion, strong lighting, insomnia or other sleep problems, alcohol or caffeine, certain medications, physical injuries, etc.

Hypnosis has been shown to be extremely effective not only in the treatment of headaches and migraines, but also in preventing them. Studies have shown repeatedly that the use of hypnosis decreases the frequency, duration, and intensity of the headaches, thereby decreasing the amount of pain medication required for them.

During hypnosis, you can learn to teach your brain to talk to your body to gain control over your headaches or migraines.  And, because this technique involves no medication, there are no side effects.
